Understanding Cat Stats

Each cat has seven core stats that determine their combat effectiveness. 5 is the baseline value — stats below 5 become significantly weaker, while higher values provide powerful bonuses.

STRStrength

Determines melee damage output. 1 STR typically equals 1 point of melee damage. Affects Strength-based dialogue options in events. Below 5, your melee attacks become pitifully weak.

DEXDexterity

Controls ranged attack damage. 5 is neutral; every 2 points above 5 adds +1 ranged damage. Below 5, your ranged attacks suffer severe penalties. Affects Dexterity-based event choices.

CONConstitution

Determines Max HP (CON × 4) and post-combat regeneration. Affects Constitution options in events. Low Constitution means your cat will die in just a few hits.

INTIntelligence

Controls mana regeneration at the end of each turn. ⚠️ Spell damage is FIXED from the start and is NOT affected by INT — INT only affects mana regen! At 0 or below, your cat speaks in "cavespeak" during events.

SPDSpeed

Determines movement tiles per turn and initiative order. High-speed cats act first and can reposition freely. Below 5, your cat becomes sluggish and predictable.

CHACharisma

Sets max mana (CHA × 3), starting mana, and breeding skill. High-charisma cats start battles with more mana for spellcasting. Essential for cats that rely on abilities.

LUCKLuck

Modifies randomness throughout the game. 5 is neutral. Each point away adds 10% chance for extra die rolls (best for high luck, worst for low). Base crit chance is 10% + 2% per luck point. Below 5, expect critical failures and bad rolls.

Build Your First All 7 Cat

Create the ultimate cat with maximum stats across all attributes. An All 7 cat dominates every aspect of combat — dealing massive damage, tanking hits, casting spells freely, and acting before enemies.

⚠️ Why Stats Below 5 Are Terrible

5 is the baseline. When a stat drops below 5, it becomes significantly worse — sometimes even negating the stat entirely. For example, low STR makes melee attacks do almost no damage, low LUCK causes frequent critical failures, and low INT makes mana regeneration painfully slow. An All 7 cat avoids these weaknesses entirely.

Clean Build: Remove Disorders & Unwanted Mutations

Sometimes your perfect stat cat is ruined by a terrible disorder or unwanted mutation. Use the editor to remove these afflictions and create a truly optimized build.

Common Bad Disorders to Remove

  • Brain Dead: -10 INT, -5 CHA (cripples spellcasters)
  • Rabies: Forces melee, drains INT after each battle
  • Cancer: No effect now, but worrying...
  • Declawed: -3 STR, can't equip weapons
  • Gigantism: +2 STR but -2 SPD, DEX, LCK
  • Anemia: Chance to bleed when taking damage

Birth Defects to Fix

  • Body Defects: -2 CON (deformed body)
  • Ear Defects: -2 DEX (damaged ears)
  • Eyebrow Defects: -2 CHA (scarred brows)
  • Eye Defects: Blind status (missing eyes)
  • Tail Defects: Severe stat penalties

Keep These Good Mutations

  • Human Ears: +1 INT
  • Human Head: Alpha Turns (take your turn earlier)
  • Human Head Body: +1 CON, Quivered (take turns 1 slot earlier)
  • Human Legs: +1 LCK
  • Human Head Tail: Backflip when targeted (dodge chance)
  • Beach Bod: +1 STR, +1 CON, -1 INT (great for melee tanks)
  • Bat Ears: See hidden things + 5% dodge chance

Tip: Some disorders like ADHD (+2 SPD, +2 INT) or Chungus (+4 CON) can actually be beneficial. Choose wisely which ones to keep!
